Healthy Nutrition Program in Pregnancy
Physical and mental growth and development of fetus is possible with adequate and balanced nutrition of the mother during pregnancy. The basic principle of a healthy baby and mother is adequate and balanced nutrition. Weight gain in pregnancy should be between 9-15 kg. For women getting pregnant above ideal body weight, this interval is 7-9 kg. One-sided nutrition should be avoided and adequate quantities of all food groups should be consumed to ensure balanced nutrition and weight control during pregnancy.
