Kolan British Hospital Infectious Diseases Division detects microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites causing diseases in human body, and applies the relevant diagnosis and treatment methods required there in for.

Infectious Diseases are a group of diseases which are commonly seen and may cause fatalities in all world countries in spite of advancements and developments in medical technologies.

Kolan British Hospital Infectious Diseases Division is engaged in inpatient and outpatient diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases from influenza to meningitis, from urinary tract infections to hepatitis, diarrhea, food intoxications and parasite diseases and systemic fungal infections. In addition, diseases characterized by high body temperature are also examined and referred to the relevant divisions.

Laboratory analyses and molecular methods required for diagnosis of some diseases are conducted in our Hospital laboratories. Our Hospital also offers services relating to travel sicknesses, adult vaccination, vaccination against infectious diseases, and other protection methods.

In Kolan British Hospital Infectious Diseases Division, both hospital infrastructure has been designed and all measures have been taken as operating principles in order to avoid hospital infections that may be caused by highly resistant microorganisms especially in intensive care units. The infection control committee assigned for this purpose uses the most current methods for prevention of inappropriate use of antibiotics, continuous training of hospital staff for infection control, and appropriate and effective cleanliness of all units and divisions of hospital.

Microbiology Laboratory

In microbiology laboratory, microorganisms, as infection agents, are detected by culture methods, serological tests or direct analyses. Our Hospital’s microbiology laboratory applies the most advanced technology bacteria identification and antibiogram methods, and is capable of aerobe and anaerobe identification of all types of bacteria. Both culture and direct diagnosis methods for agents of fungal and parasitic infections and advanced antigenic diagnosis methods for viruses are used actively and routinely.
