Hypercholesterolemia

Hypercholesterolemia is high blood cholesterol level. It is a disease, but may also be associated with many other diseases, and may cause secondary diseases and especially cardiovascular diseases by accumulating in many organs such as brain and kidneys. If blood contains a high level of cholesterol, it accumulates in blood vessels and causes hardening and narrowing of blood vessels (arteriosclerosis).
