A Mid-Facelift

A mid-facelift, also known as a cheek lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at correcting sagging and wrinkles in the cheek area. This procedure targets the tissues above the cheekbones and below the eyes to create a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Procedure Overview

  1. Consultation: The process begins with a detailed consultation with a plastic surgeon. The surgeon will assess the patient’s facial structure, skin condition, and aesthetic goals. The patient’s medical history will also be reviewed to discuss potential risks and complications.
  2. Anesthesia: A mid-facelift is typically performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation, ensuring the patient is comfortable and pain-free during the procedure.
  3. Incisions: The surgeon makes small incisions, typically just below the lower lash line or within the hairline. These incisions provide access to the underlying tissues and are strategically placed to minimize visible scarring.
  4. Repositioning and Tightening: The surgeon lifts and repositions the underlying fat and muscle tissues upwards, correcting sagging in the mid-face area and enhancing the contours of the cheekbones. Excess skin may be removed, and the remaining skin is tightened.
  5. Closing Incisions: The incisions are closed with fine sutures or skin adhesives. The placement of the incisions within natural skin creases or the hairline helps to minimize visible scarring.
